PM's match results, round 10, final match

Post by heather »

Match Report: 10th round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2009, Sun 18.10.09, Vale Park Bank, Wallasey (31 rods).

Local reports in the run up to this final round of the series predicted brisk sport with whiting and dogfish and this low tide Mersey Estuary venue did not disappoint on what turned out to be a perfect evening for fishing.
Of the two zones, the upriver Zone B fished slightly better. Crosby’s Les Trish was a popular winner with 25 fish for a winning total of nearly six and a half metres including the equal longest flatfish!
Championship leader John Waugh had what was, by his high standards, a disappointing match but had already accumulated enough points throughout the year to take the championship with Ian Griffiths a strong runner-up at the end of a hard fought and very enjoyable 2009 series.

Results (scoring continental style from 2 zones):

1. Les Trish (Crosby), 19 whiting, 5 dabs, 1 codling, 649 cms. (pic).
2. Gordon Thornes (Connah’s Quay), 16 whiting, 3 dabs, 1 dogfish, 518cms.
3. Phil House (Wallasey), 11 whiting, 5 codling, 3 dogfish, 1 dab, 573 cms (photo, with dogfish).
4. Ian Griffiths (Eastham), 13 whiting, 5 codling, 2 dabs, 480 cms.
5. Steve Trish (Bootle), 16 whiting, 2 codling, 1 dab, 485 cms (photo with dogfish).
6. John Floyd (Ellesmere Port), 9 whiting, 2 dogfish, 2 dabs, 396 cms.

Roundfish pool: Damien Badley (Wallasey), lesser spotted dogfish, 61 cms.

Good choice of venues. Enjoyed all of them :) :) :)
Good company :) :)
Sea fishermen are born honest. But they soon get over it.
