Match Report: 10th round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2009, Sun 18.10.09, Vale Park Bank, Wallasey (31 rods).
Local reports in the run up to this final round of the series predicted brisk sport with whiting and dogfish and this low tide Mersey Estuary venue did not disappoint on what turned out to be a perfect evening for fishing.
Of the two zones, the upriver Zone B fished slightly better. Crosby’s Les Trish was a popular winner with 25 fish for a winning total of nearly six and a half metres including the equal longest flatfish!
Championship leader John Waugh had what was, by his high standards, a disappointing match but had already accumulated enough points throughout the year to take the championship with Ian Griffiths a strong runner-up at the end of a hard fought and very enjoyable 2009 series.
