Sunday Loch Etive aboard the Laura Dawn 29/01/2006

Post by dragonnnet »

A bit dissapointing in that no Spurs of counting size showed at all. A few thornies were taken including this one

Stevie Frayling got a 5lb Pollock Tommy got a nice Cod a few decent whiting were taken and everybody got at least one counting fish.

I ended the day with this little rarity

Looks like it was a belter of a day weatherwise and the scenery is fantastic. A few varieties of fish thrown in as well!

Are there many charter boats doing these areas?

It was an unusually warm day. The jacket had been off for a while earlier but sun was going down in my photos. There are 2 or 3 boats will take you out on Etive. Its usually a winter mark as its never blown off. The boats tend to operate out of Oban in the Summer.

There are often spaces over the winter if you fancy a trip up.

Loch Sunart in 3 weeks so hopefully get some Spurs there. Chance of a Common too.
