Another solid turn out of 22 anglers spread along the prom for the final league match.With 4 of us in with a shout of taking the title (Jimmy decided to go on the lash instead ) it was gunna be very tense until that last cast. Dyl went to the left of the steps which is generally the better area for flats n whiting,while myself,Dave and Dale headed right where the better chance of cod was.First cast saw Rob Turner take a 28cm codling,fishing two up from me,but as in his last match here,he could`nt find a flat to go with it. It was very quiet with baits coming back untouched,and with the strong tidal flow,it was turning in to a grueller. Fishing two down to my left,Dale was putting baits out @20yds in the hope of a sheltering flounder,but was rewarded with a nice 46cm codling...Gary on my right snared a whiting,then with an hour to go,Lee,on my left had a good bite and landed a 45cm codling...he later snared a dab but it was undersize,which was very frustrating for him.As with all of the matches,it was wide open for anyone to win on the last cast,or 2nd to last cast for Dyl as he landed the all important 25cm dab to go with his 29cm whiting which was enough to win the match,and edge out Dale for the overall title,as myself and Dave both blanked along with 12 others on the day All that`s left to say is a big thank you to everyone who took part,and fished with good humour...the friendly atmosphere in the matches is second to none.Special mention to my righthand man Lee for helping with the pay outs,and especially to Mark Davies ,as without him sorting out the insurance,the league would not have gone ahead.
Dyl and Dave will be taking over the matches from now on,so i`d like to wish them all the best,and good luck to everyone who takes part.

well what a well run, well attended league this winter with a great codling season to boot.nip and tuck to the end well done Dyl its been coming for a while and well deserved also well done jimmy back from a break and fished very well all the way to the end .

I can only echo what's been said it was very tight in the end with the league and cod cup decided by catches in the last match. Well done to dyl and dale and All the runners up.
Thanks to kev and Lee for running the matches And to everyone who took part the average attendance for the winter league was over 20 per match which is great And it has been great fun it's been great to fish with everyone just enjoying the matches And banter looking forward to the summer league

Wow, actually saw the Champion today, in Malcom's, the awesome Anglesey Bait Centre. Dyl buying a pile of gear, had a chat, then he had to go, me and Gaz, as Malcom stated "You're not buying fishing Tackle, you're Investing in Fishing Tackle", very true.....
