So this years WSF Summer into Winter League came to a conclusion at Guinea Gap with a One Flat/One Round match. It was to be a two way shoot out for the overall title between Mark Davies and Roy Schofield with the dropped scores to come into play.

As has been the case throughout the Winter the fishing was again poor with fish few and far between and the fish that were on offer limited to small versions of the various species. This is demonstrated by Roy Schofield taking the longest fish pool with a 30cm Whiting.

Jeff White was the winner on the day with a flat and round combo of 53cm beating out Dave Radcliffe by a couple of centimeters however all eyes were on Roy Schofield and Mark Davies to see who would take the overall title...……..

Roy needed to finish in the top 4 places with the dropped scores factored in, in order to take title and he did just that finishing 3rd on the day which gave him the overall league win. Well done and well fished Roy...……………………



Which meant for the second year in a row Mark Davies finished as runner up after yet again showing great consistency across the matches. Well done Mark...………………….



This years league has been unique in terms of merging Summer into Winter and has faced a number of challenges with Covid at various points which has understandably had an impact on numbers but never the less it has been fantastic to see the lads still getting out and fishing the matches.

A big thank you to Dave Roberts and Dave Radcliffe who have again stepped in to run events on the day as well as continuing to provide bait for each match.

We will now take a break before publishing the fixtures for the Summer League which will be starting in early April.

Hopefully we will see numbers start to increase again this year.

Well done to Roy and mark for consistant fishing.Well done to all that fished the matches.People don't know what they're missing.It must be one of the friendliest match leagues around.Come and join us.I walked the match on Sunday and it was hard going.My new pup curtailed my participitation.Hopefully I will be fishing the summer league......Be afraid.
