Round 7 saw us at the usually fish sure Perch Rock for a one flat one round combo match...………………
As usual there were fish present from the off and hopes were high for a variety of species and potentially some bigger fish in the form of Rays, Huss or Conger however it was not to be as all of the above were notable by their absence and this saw Mark Davies take the longest fish pool with a 30cm Whiting!
Instead it was the usual plethora of Dogfish and Whiting early doors including this one for Dylan Kensall handled very professionally by daughter Ava...……..
As always seems to be the way in this format it was the flat fish that would prove decisive and they were harder to come by than the round fish. 6 anglers managed to get their combo which made for a tight finish and it was Dave Roberts who took the win at the death with a 28cm Dab beating Dave Radcliffe into 2nd by a single centimeter followed by a 3 way tie for 3rd.
Hopefully the Codling now start to show in good numbers ahead of the next match.
