Hi just been down the beach(opposite town hall steps wallasey) I have noticed loads of casts along the beach do you think the blow worm is any good along here.also just about 5ft from the shore I seen a shoal of seagulls are these feeding off crab? If so do you think their be plenty peelers in this area? I did come across crab shells that have come off.

Am going to start doing abit of sea fishing again aint done it for over 18 years that was with the grandparents at llandudno back then.am now 26 and want to start getting back to doing it again.where are the best places on the wirral for bait?

Also what I want to find out which I should of added on original post,are crab traps any good to use? And are they legal to use in england?

Crab traps are ok if you want to catch crabs,but they won't get you peelers.A bit more work involved.

Hard work with traps mate-got to check them every
tide and theyll only produce when the crabs are peeling
(obviously)you will find out this by yourself when the weather
warms up and youre checking them regularly.
think Steve wanted to say this but he likes to be a bit cryptic
with newish members asking about best spots for bait etc etc.
If you search the forum properly looking for the info you
want then you will find it,theres no real secrets on here-
thats what the search facility is for

Think he may have been talking about crab "net" traps in which case you won't get peeler crab in them. Peeler traps are lengths of guttering stuck in the mud or tyres. Get blow lug from harrison drive area and crab from around the groins.
