How many types of lug?

I am a little confused regarding the types of lugworm and would welcome some clarification.

I am local to Crosby so pump blow lug at Hall Rd and black lug? at Lifeboat Rd

Yellow tails are mentioned so is this a 3rd species, can I get yellow tails at Hall Rd and if so what do I look for is the cast the same as a blow or a black lug

I normally pump blow at Hall Rd about 200 mtrs out just past the wooden mast structure but not past the new yellow marker pole

Any advice is welcomed

Officially there`s only 2 types of lug i.e blow and black,but 99% of lads agree that there`s also yellow tails which are a bit of both.They cast similar to blacks but are like blow in colour and have a long thin yellowish tail.I have pumped yellows on neap tides at Hall rd from around the area you have mentioned....

Thank you - that has cleared it up and I will try and be more selective next time I am down at "F" Hall Rd - at least it is close enough for me to go and scrat around even if I don't find any YTs

It would be useful if I can collect on neaps as this would give me fresh bait that will coincide with suitable tides for the docks. When I have fresh lug from Lifeboat Rd the tides are generally too big for the docks - Seems I cant have both at the same time i.e. fresh bait and suitable tides on this side of the water.
