Match report: Sunday 4.9.11, 7th round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship, 2011, Aigburth, Mersey Estuary (24 rods).

One the last hot days of the summer brought the crowds onto the promenade and there were reasonable catches of flounders and eels to interest passers-by. Some of the numerous small whiting in the estuary are starting to make the size limit, staving off blanks for a few competitors.Of the two leading protagonists at the sharp end of the championship, it was Joe Perry who came out on top, reinforcing his lead over his rival from over the water, Bill Lindfield; both were pegged in Zone B.Although there were no surprises from these shallower waters high up the Mersey, all competitors recorded fish on an enjoyable day in the sun.
