Match Report: Round 4 of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship, Saturday 28th May 2011, Connah’s Quay, Flintshire (29 rods).


Fished on a rising tide, the narrow channel of the Dee Estuary produced flounders and eels with an occasional bass showing over high water into darkness.
Eastham’s Ian Griffiths mastered what was, to many, a new venue with eight fish for a winning 246 cms from the upriver Zone B. Fish came to both worm, crab and mackerel baits. Despite what was to him a disappointing 11th place, Team England’s Bill Lindfield notched up sufficient points to take the series lead from Joe Perry.
England Youth Squad member, Michael Brookes’ second place bag included a bass of 53 cms taken in the last half hour of the match (photo).
