its a excellent rod for bass(and rough ground fishing max 6oz lead ) very light and can can be good for soft baits;)i use mine for ( live sandeel shrimp) its very flexi at the top section with it being 6.3 and thin butt bite detection is a decent pull might sound mad but its good sport on spinning with lures/jellies with a small reel i use the shimano bait runners over rocks too be honest it reminds me of a smaller version of the quattro match with a little more beef in its butt if mind the pun .

the rods i use now are the Lt 14 and the Lt 14 bullet,,,,the Lt 14 is known as the progression from the X T R groundcaster,,so i may know more than you think merseyboy boy,,

Must admit Sven had me a bit confused as my one and only time I borrowed an XTR Groundcaster was on the tourny field, and a real distance machine it was too!

What distance can you get with it Chris [/quote] With an over the shoulder Dale Winton type flick,you could achieve about 20 yrds,,,With a full on over the head lassoo style yeehaa throw (the handliners pendulum) 40 yrds was possible,,,,,,
