PM's match results, round 3 2010

Any fears that the recent poor form of this part of the Mersey would continue were dispelled in the first 15 minutes as fish came on the first cast for several competitors. Anglers enjoyed a peaceful match: not only was there barely a breath of wind but the adjacent John Lennon Airprt was silent.
There was a healthy range of species for an April match with codling, flounders, dabs, eels, whiting, plaice and a single thornback for John Baguley to ragworm tipped with mackerel although crab was generally the most successful bait.
Joe Perry caught fish consistently throughout the match for a win from the less fancied upriver Zone A; this moved him to second place in the championship behind Bill Lindfield.
