Upper severn (iron bridge)

A friend got back yesterday from a night on the severn and reported the fish where on the feed... and that he had a 9lb+ Barbel... so in less than a hour we were packed in the car and off for a my first river session...a respectable one at that

We arrived and a few people had moved in on his swim...not to bother they wernt staying long

About 9pm we moved across to the swim and my first cast i had my first river CHUB about 2lb.... the next a river roach approx 1lb... after that all went quiet till 12 and all hell broke loose... i landed my first barbel at about 6.5lbs and my god it was a wake up call

next cast bought me a 7.5lber, 45mins later a 9lb 5oz fish slipped over my net and to my dissapointment the fight on the biggun was sh*t... it went quite and the fish had moved over to my mates swim where he had 3 in quick sucession of about 5.5lb, 7lb and 9lb 10oz

Once he had his fill the fish disappeard leaving my big bro fishless ( eels dont count)

Just before sunrise i landed a fish of 9lb 8oz then the last fish of the night a 5lber

All in all a good session now im off for some kip

My first ever barbel at 6.5lb

Another of 7.5lb

again... 9lb 5oz

and my best at 9lb 8oz

My last wasnt worth the photos so was released straight away but heres the best of the night at 9lb 10oz

these fish fight like no-other and im addicted.... from as soon as you wind down into them, until the moment you net it, they fight light a freight train

Well done,small point Iron bridge is middle severn not upper but good sport anyway.

Always thought Severn looked lovely at Ironbridge, is it day ticket or do you need a permit ?
