Match Report: First Round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2008, Sun 24.2.08, Maddock Bank, Wallasey (42 rods).


There was a bumper attendance for this series curtain raiser, fished over low water on a calm evening on the Mersey Estuary.
With dabs scarce and whiting almost non existent, it was left to codling and rockling to make up the modest catches.
Bootle’s Joe Perry landed two decent codling to worm and frozen crab baits for a comfortable win over local angler Brian Baguley.
2007 Champion Kevin Martland made an assured start to his title defence with fouth place.
