How best to keep rag?

Did a quick scan of ebay, and you can actually buy 1/2 kilo's of live rag on there.

Was wondering what tips people have for keeping them? So far ive kept them in the fridge, in the peaty meadium my local bait shop sells them in, but this needs replacing pretty fast, and i'm not sure what is best to replace it with.

What have people found works the best?

Note: I am aloud to use our household fridge, as long as there are no escapies!

Oh, on a seperate note, did a quick search of the internet for tips, and found a site that says they are currently developing a slug/snail killer based on one of the chemicals found in rag worm secretions - so stick that old rag on your garden as a natural slug control.

best way of keeping rag is to keep them wrapped in newspaper at the bottom of the fridge, change the paper when it appears wet as the worm will not last long if you dont, also do not keep the newspaper in a plastic bag in the fridge as this will cause them to sweat and die.

I also would not really want to buy bait from ebay - but thats up to the person buying it.

If they are in good condition clean off the stuff they came in with cool seawater ideally from the same fridge you keep them in,then partiallly cover them in seawater in a cat litter tray about 10 worms per tray.
You can keep them for over a month that way as long as you change the water every week or so and remove any dead worms which will pollute the water very quickly,within hours even,that will kill all of them.
Temperature should be between 5 and 8 degrees C.They may shrink a bit and eventually they will starve but they live quite happily like this if you give them a bit of care,some people use aireators and some put a layer of coral sand in first but this is not essential.
Try it,they get like pets after a while Same applys to white rag if you ever get any.
