This former fishing village on Angelsey`s east coast is a popular mark for pleasure anglers.A walk along the headland path,reveals large areas of flat rocks .Ideal for day or night sport,winter offers whiting,codling,dogs,dabs,strap conger.However,the emphasis is on quantity,not quality.
Tackle/Bait....Moelfre`s biggest attraction is the huge shoals of mackeral which feed inshore from June to September.Hoards of anglers gather in season,to make the most of the sport.
Mackeral feathers,spinners and hokkai lures will catch,and light tackle will give better sport.In winter,standard beach gear,with mackeral/lug works well.
How To Get There....Follow the A5025 from the Menai Bridge.Moelfre is clearly signposted 13 miles along the road.
