Mariners Wharf 30/12/2005

Post by feederman »

Fished Mariners on 30th Dec from 7:45 to 30min after high.

Tide was high nearly 29feet so currect was very strong, 8oz lead couldn't grip till 30min before and after high tide, so actually just got an hour fishing time. Both rods 2 hooks clipped down with Veals big mouth 2/0 hooks ( similar to a 4/0 aberdeen hook size) with frozen lugs.

got a pin whiting from the start, the not a bite till slack water (planned to pack up)

then one of my rods got a good knock and I just picked up the rod and kept reeling in. It fought quite strong and I gotta set the drag looser to give some line. Finally I climed over the bench, walked down the stairs to land this fatty, 6lb 4oz cod, my PB :D

After that managed 2 more 10oz and 2 small whitings and I called it a day

Happy ending for 2005
