Match Report: 1st round of NWASAC Summer League, Sun 16th May, 2017, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (39 rods).

The new league started in style with a north westerly breeze bringing a healthy run of spring codling; twenty seven of these were over 40 cms.
There was also a good showing of eels and a single dogfish, landed by double world champion, Alan Price. Flounders, however, were almost absent. A solitary specimen of 31 cms gave the flatfish pool to Carl Edwards.
Winner of this first round was the Mersey Maestro, John Waugh. His eleven fish bag included seven good sized codling for a measure and release total of 437 cms.
