it has its moments thought the summer months over low water is often best but during the winter the fish tend to be in the river so follow the crowds

Perch rock or vale park over low is favourite.

Me and the boss are looking at Perch for low water tomorrow afternoon forecast is fair so we are expecting either snow or gales

The double slipway by the clown roundabout has produced whiting,
dabs, dogfish and one or two in size codling at night on the bigger tides!

Move round in to the River itself, either Town Hall Areas or Maddock Slip, either area is easy access from Tobin Street in Seacombe.

Yep windy as fudge and not a lot happening( damn the weather liars).We both had a couple of good bites big baits shredded but difficult to spot with the rods bouncing about in the gusts didn't see anyone else catch either quite a few (including us) packed up before the tide turned as it was getting much colder as the sun went down. I am begining to think the light rods we use (Bass rods) are too whippy for the windier days the whole rod flexing in the wind, maybe a stiffer rod might make spotting tip movement easier

If you come along A554 Seabank Rd,you turn off on to Maddock Rd,and park at the bottom just 10yds from where you fish

Fish just to the right of the slip,as there`s a gulley which comes down from the groyne....should give you plenty of sport especially after dark.
If you fish Town Hall Steps,the most productive mark is about 30yds left of the steps....you`ll get quantity but not necessarily quality.
Tunnel Vents is prob the best bet for codling,as there`s deeper water and a fair old tidal flow which the fish like....it can be a bit snaggy in parts but generally not bad.....it`s been giving a good few codling in the 2lb to 3lb bracket on the ebb at night

If there`s a good Nor`Wester blowin in your face at Harrison Drive you`ll often find that the marks on the river itself (Vale Park, Eggy, Town Hall etc) are reasonably sheltered.
