Black Lug Milky Fluid

Pumped some worm last week and noticed (many times over the years) that when 'knocking' them out their fluids were milky pink colour. Is this when they are in their breeding season?

Species--- Bass,ray,smoothhound,starry smoothhound,plaice,flounder,dab,LSD,huss,whiting,coddling,mackeral,pout,pollock.
