Do you have a favorite venue for Carp ,tench, bream fishing, if so then pass on as much information in this test section of WSF.

Who let the Cats out? 06/04/14

Post by Shaun1118 »

I've been getting back into my specimen fishing as of late and had a call off a mate last week who wanted me to join him on a 24hour session at Lakemore Fishery in Crewe.

I fished at Lakemore a few years back with Jaygo and wokky but was unsuccessful but this session was to be at the other end of the spectrum. It wasn't long before I had my first take but it was a nervous run and nothing amounted, a few runs later and we just couldn't hit the fish it was still daylight and maybe it was making them hesitant or maybe my inexperience was to blame.... I just hoped it wasnt going to keep happening through the night.

It quietened down as the light faded and it was 2 hours into darkness before I had another run. I struck and my first ever cat was soon on the bank and then there was no stopping them.... every run ment another fish on the bank I ended up with 24 cats, 7 going 20lb+ with my best going 28lb 10oz most where in the mid doubles though. My mate had 19 and his best went 26lb. Not big fish in catfish terms but big enough to put a smile on our faces.

As dark turned to day I turned my attention to the Carp and managed a few the best going 15lb 8oz
