Bold SAC fishing trip Thursday 20th june 2013

Steamed from Liverpool marina on the 32ft aquastar ‘brigand’ skippered by Kevin McKie to a mark 23miles into Liverpool bay. With very few mackerel about we were glad of the £50 worth

purchased for us by the skipper. Anchored on a skippers hotspot all day where we landed 18 thornback rays to 11lb 8oz and 25 bullhuss to 12lb. The catch was made up of the usual pollack, scad, whiting, gurnads, weavers and dogs. The skipper supplied all the traces & leads, prepared all the baits, disgorged all the hooks and cooked a hearty meal of chicken, cheese & bacon baps on the journey home. The trip lasting nearly thirteen hours. A clean

and comfortable boat with helpful crewman and skipper makes the trip all that much better.
