4am the alarm clock sounds and it was time to fill the Land Cruiser, after the oops being ripped out of me for my coarse gear I had replaced it all so I had all brand new stuff to go with
, Lol arrived nice and early and we set off to go and get Pac Man, and he was up and ready !!!
, well he was just turning the castors for me actually, we loaded kens stuff up and off we set to Mallory Park for a 8am breakfast. We arrived a little late due to the Sat Nav getting lost
met up with the reps and Roy Marlow and a few people that we met from last year, the breakfast was fantastic and set us up for the species hunt on Day 1 of the 2 day event. Peg 4 of the match lake was the peg that i picked out the hat, WE arrived at the Glebe complex and unloaded the equivalant of 2 tackle shops and then set off to our chosen pegs, the wind was blowing down the lake towards the Pegs that lol and pac man had picked. the fisihng was very slow at the end i was pegged at but they came out every now and again, I ended up with 21lb of fish made up of Bream, Carp, Skimmers, Roach,Rud, Perch and those green ones
, from about Peg 6 the wieghts went up and up and up, not sure on PAC mans wieght but the winning angler had 178lb
Lol had 31lb after making out he had about 80lb !!! so i reckon i did ok as i was in a peg that was not that good due to the wind, lol was on a peg that the wind was blowing right in to so he should have bagged up

We then set off for the hotel, placed in the middle of nowhere we arrived and booked in at 6.30pm, dinner was booked for 7.30pm so an hour to get showered and changed was all we had, we all met in the bar and then sat down for the evening meal, the talk was about day 2 of the event and we had a choice to go pleasure fishing or to take part in the match, I opted for the pleasure fishing on one of the Carp lakes as did Lol, we spoke to Roy Marlow and got some advice on how to fish the lake, at around 11pm we were informed that cars had been broken in to and that we should go and check them, ours was ok but the reps had been done over and a lot of tackle stolen

Day 2
7am Start for breakfast and then we set back off to the Glebe complex, we opted to fish "uglies" after speaking to Roy and we set up, I was in to a fish pretty fast and estimate about 8lb common, Lol was fishing the other side of the lake and was also doing well catching ROACH !!
, I had more fish and at one point both rods were screaming out line and lol had to come round and land one of the fish (at least he now knew what the carp in there looked like
), after getting them back in the water I had another this time it felt much bigger than the others, and when landed it wieghed in at 12.5lb
, lol would not take any pictures as he was still catching roach and my phone was not that good
, after a break for lunch lol came round and fished one of the carp rods, and he was soon in to a fish as I had listened to Roy and kept on feeding the swims, in all I ended up with 12 fish heaviest 12.5 and lol had about 4
, he took some pics in the end so he will put them up I am sure, the daty ended with evening meal back at Mallory Race Track (better than the Hotel) and then we set off home again, it was a fantastic 2 days and look forward to doingit again next year.
Lol was a winner at the Glebe, but i will let him tell you what for
