hi guys and gals,lots of questions if anyone can help.been away from sea fishing for a while now back.i had a flat in waterloo going back some years and used to get a permit for the docks,and i do remember having to either walk or alternativly get a taxi from the gates and hopefully he would remember to pick you up at agreed time,no mobile phones in those far off days,so question 1 is where we get permits now ,how much and when do they run from and to.
i remember fishing a lovely and productive mark on the wirral side that was called one o clock gun,dont see any mention of it now,has it been renamed or is it top secret,lol.it had a nice wall behind which gave shelter and some jetty type things up and down,buggered if i can remember how to get there,any directions preferably with post code{sat nav see}welcome.
lastly i remember not fishing mersey on big tides coz of flow,but see some people fishing in far bigger tides,is this viable or only for a short time either side of high or low,if so which marks are best on big tides.
very sorry for all questions but i need to catch up fast,its been over 20 years since i cast a line into the mersey.thanks for your help in advance.

I use to fish the one o'clock gun but it has well gone,,it is now the irish ferry terminal

Just looked at this http://binged.it/rJ0fMz from spud
and the old jetties are still there if you scroll up to the terminal roadway.

coming from the birkenhead side of the docks, turn right at the lights before the dock entrance and drive til you can drive no more and you can park 10 yards from the wall. i recce'd it last last year but yet to try it
