Re: November Meet....Low Water Vale Park
I`ve done ok for coddo at Vale Park over the years so if anyone is in the slightest bit interested this is my plan of attack......Usually the first hour is the peak coddo feeding time so make the most of it.....getting your bait in to the fast running channel is the key to success so forget fancy multi hook rigs and go for a simple clipped down pennel....don`t load it with too much bait that it makes it hard to cast...better to have a small bait in the right area than a big bait in no mans land. You`ll need a decent sinker to try and hold bottom early on (ooh err missus)...i usually use 7oz...sometimes going as far as to make it a grip lead by putting an elastic band on the legs....it can make it hard to reel in but your chances of a cod taking the bait are much greater if you can hold out in the fast water.Bait wise i usually just load up with fresh lug,or a lug/squid cocktail....bit of crab won`t hurt if you`ve got any ( i usually have`nt got any so don`t worry about that)....other than the codling you will catch plenty of whiting n dabs on all types of rigs and baits from close in. You`ve still got a chance of codling after the first hour but things are usually more chilled from then so you can go to multi hook rigs for anything that swims

Not going to be able to make this one - going to my folks house to blow stuff up, set fire to things, eat too much home made meat and spud pie then drink beer.

Was really going to make the effort to fish this one, but a mate has asked me to go to his birthday bash and Ancient Musicians` Jam Session - no brainer!
