Match Report: 9th Round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2008, Sat 25.10.08, Colwyn Bay Promenade (42 rods).


While a southerly gale roared overhead, the north-facing Colwyn Bay provided a perfect sheltered match venue for the 42 anglers who lined up along the promenade to contest this penultimate round in the series.
A near rout by current or former Team Wales members was led by Richie Flanagan, with a narrow win over fellow Wallasey ace, Jamie Pickup, who now has a clear lead in the series with only one match (Otterspool on November 9th) to go. Whiting and dogfish made up the bulk of the catches.
Flatfish are scarce at Colwyn Bay but if anyone was to locate one, the bets would always be on John Waugh and his 37cms plaice to squid was the only one caught on the night . Shane Russell landed a roundfish pool-winning dogfish of 68 cms at his home venue.
