Match Report: George Crane Memorial Match incorporating 5th Round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2008, Sun 8.6.08, Greenfield,Flintshire, Deeside (46 rods).
The first event commemorating the passing of the veteran Wallasey angler, George Crane sr. saw a healthy attendance competing on the rock lined banks on the Welsh side of the tidal Dee.
Some good sized fish were landed, mainly plaice, flounders and eels and a single bass which won the roundfish pool for Mike Watterson.
Up and coming junior, Michael Brookes landed five good fish for a well deserved win and a place in this year’s S.A.M.F. U.K. Masters.
His father, Ian consolidated his title lead with a solid 4th place.
