Welsh Tour

Not much of a tour....the poxy weather put pay to that 
I arrived on Sun morn to see the extension on the caravan of doom 
Spare fridge for beer/bait
I had been crabbing early doors and found it hard going....but Sven and Lee had some from earlier which meant we had plenty for a bass hunt.We intended to fish the marina entrance at Pwllheli before moving down to Barmouth....the boats/weed made it impossible at the former mark so we headed in to Barmouth for a couple of beers before taking up position on the bridge. It was action from the off with schoolies rattling my rod....hooking them was the problem,as i was on a sliding leger with big baits n 6/0 hooks
They did`nt all escape...........
Lee had never caught a bass so he was well chuffed to take this 12oz beauty
I managed 4 in all with the best going 1-10-8
Me and Lee were fishing in the channel getting bass n dogs,while Sven struggled in the shallower water......Lee finished off with a bullet/dog combo
Monday was a trip to Ty Croes in search of rays,but the weather was poor and we were getting a good soaking from the sea spray
Lee snared a spider......
Bit of a swell running..............
Dogs was all we could find
Sven headed home so the next day myself and Lee went for more crabs (much better this time) then shot down to Barmouth again as we were confident of bass,plus it`s a good blow off venue noddy type mark
Things were pretty quiet with just the odd dog til high water,then Lee (fishing the hot spot ) had a reet good rattle and brought in a p.b bass of 2-5-0
I had one around the 1lb mark,as did Lee,before finishing with another of 1-11-0
Wednesday saw the winds relent a bit so we headed for Porth Lago....it was lovely when we arrived,.............
Light rain soon started and kept on through the afternoon The fishing was slow,though i managed a few nice wrasse,plus some small pollack,whiting and a dog on the heavy gear
We had intended to fish after dark for huss/conger but the wind switched round and the sea was getting rougher....time to retreat to the van to watch the apprentice
Over all it was very poor fishing due to the weather restricting our choices,but it was a good laugh with Sven n Lee and it was nice to see Lee get a few bass
