We parked at the far right from St.Mary`s Well
There`s a path at the end of the fence....
Follow the steep downhill path,and you`ll see 3 hills...
We were fishing a mark which Bren n Lee had fished recently,which meant turning right at the right hand hill...
You can soon see the bay...we would be fishing near the far corner
The descent is`nt steep,it`s VERTICAL
Don`t think about trying here unless it`s bone dry....one slip and it`s goodnight vienna

Finally got there,so it`s time to chill out and get your breath back
The marks around here are fantastic...beautiful...scenic...litter free
You do have to search for a comfortable spot,as a lot of the coastline is impossibly cliff bound....our mark was spot on
As we had no bait,we had to get macky bashing asap
I used a tip from Bren and attached a dexter wedge to my macky gear....best of both worlds
We were soon in to pollack,with myself getting tiddlers while Bren got just slightly bigger ones
Some areas were pretty snaggy,and i was losing macky traces pretty quickly
....i`d ran out of gear and we had`nt caught a single mack yet we`d kept a few pollack in the rock pools behind us just in case,but Bren kept plugging away,and saved the day A full house macky/coalfish combo....
I put a light rig out with a bit of crab and had a wrasse

It was a very warm day,so we were glad for darkness to fall and cool down....Bren was a star and filled a pool with mack for our conger n huss efforts
We had a few dogs in daylight and feared we`d get hammered by them after dark,but only 1 more showed,which was nice
You`ve got to remember to weigh your fish for the specimen trophy

Big mack baits went out and after a couple of hard hits,i landed the first of my massive conger

We had a good spell with a few nice runs but as usual it was proving to be difficult to land them....the big eels were taking us in to snags fairly quickly
Bren hit a huss which spat the hook out when it reached the surface,but landed this fella on his next cast....6-2-8
I found a nice 3 bearded rockling
An hour before low water and the action stopped completely.....we were almost out of mack anyway,so we called it a night and headed to the van for a scran and a beer
It was hard getting to the mark,but getting back is a killer
a vertical climb after a long day is not what you need We were shattered by the time we`d got back,had a cheese toastie and a beer,and crashed out....i`ve never fell asleep so quickly A great day/night at a great mark....there`s lots of possibilites around there and some big fish will come out....at best it`s difficult to get to the marks,and it can be very dangerous if you don`t take your time...well worth it though
i owned up for the skylight .
