Anglesey - Point Lynas (high and low water mark)

Point Lynas refers to the tip of the headland with the lighthouse on it. As you cross onto the island on the A55, take the second junction off labelled Amlwch A5025. Follow the A5025 past Benllech and after about six miles you will come to the village of Penysarn. Go through the village and after just over a mile you will come to a garage, turn right straight after it. After 2 miles you will come to a mini roundabout on the edge of a small bay (Porth Eilian).
Parking:- In the winter you can park here, but in the summer you have to park further up towards the lighthouse in the field on top of the headland.
There are three marks.
1. From the roundabout look left and go through the kissing gate by the slipway following the coast for 200 yards or so to the rock platform and the coast beyond.
2. The beach area itself.
3. The jetty which is over the headland with the lighthouse on it on the eastern side (deep).
Mark 1 and 3 get quite good sized Pollack and wrasse in the summer with doggies all year round and codling. Larger whiting and dabs in the winter as well as bullhuss, rays and conger, especially round mark 3. Mark 1 also gets the occasional mackerel shoal during the summer. Mark 2 is usually doggies, dabs and the odd plaice.
