Directions:- Cross Over the Brittania Bridge (A55) staying on the dual carriagewayfor about 12 miles to the Rhosneigr/Aberffraw turn-off. Follow the A4080 for about 6-7 miles to Aberffraw village. Go ver the bridge and park up. Follow the river for a mile and a half down to the corner of the beach.

This is a very popular beach with tourists during the summer so in the holiday period it’s best in the evenings. An incoming tide with the wind from the sea so there is a surf is best. On the left (south) is best for bass, flounder/dab at the river mouth and rays off the rocks on the right (north). Winter you will get whiting, doggies and coalies. Best baits are worms or crabs

From the 6th to the 13th centuries, Aberffraw was the 'capital' of the welsh kingdom of Gwynedd, which covered the whole of north-west Wales from Conwy/Deganwy, most of snowdonia, Llyn peninsula, down as far as Harlech and beyond. A viking warfleet was kept in the estuary and raids to Ireland were often mounted from here. The church near the village dates back to the 14th century, with some bits 300 years older than that. The small stone bridge in the village is from the 14th century as well and is one of the oldest of it's type still in use

The very far end of the beach again is not for the faint-hearted as it is popular with nudists.
