Anglesey-Britannia Bridge...Menai Straits

One of the many popular low water marks found on the banks of the Straits.The ground is rough,but catches will compensate for tackle losses.In summer anglers land wrasse,pollack,black bream,plaice,bass and gurnard.Whiting,dogs,coalfish and occassional conger will be taken in autumn/winter.Anglers make the most of a winter run of codling,and a spring run often follows in March.
Tackle/bait....Large helpings of fresh black lug takes the best catches of codling,though cocktails including crab/squid/mack also work well.Long casting is not necessary,though fishing is restricted to a couple of hours either side of low water neaps,due to the powerful current.As with most venues,fishing after dark will greatly improve catches.
How To Get There....Cross the Britannia bridge and turn off for Llanfair PG...Turn left and left again,down a lane leading to a church yard.Walk through this,and it brings you out on the mark.There`s lots of weed covered rocks,which hold peeler,so a rummage around will be worth it.
