Round 9 results and report

Well this week saw us at a very windy otterspool but with the forecast saying the winds were dropping we decided to give it a go.
So we all booked on and made our guesses for the winning length and at 1.45 made our way to the prom. It was rather windy down there some of us managed to get our shelters up and strapped down and some decided to tough it out. So 2.30 all in was called so trap's set and we waited and waited and waited.
Fishing was very slow after about an hour the first fish was landed Yuri had a nice 31cm flounder but still quite everywhere else. Then mike bishton landed a nice 49cm codling, this raised our hopes but apart from the odd fish nothing showing, but at least the wind had dropped even though it was raining on and off it was quite warm. As darkness fell we hoped the whiting would start to show but unfortunately they didn't show in any numbers with only the odd one being caught so soon enough it was 7.30 and back to the carpark for a nice hot drink and the results.
16 anglers fished and only 7 found fish
1st place went to Gary swift who fished the bottom end and finished with 4 fish for 94 cm.
2nd was true who had 2 fish for 54cm.
3rd was John Waugh with 2 fish for 51cm.
4th Mike Bishton with 1fish for 49cm
5th Dale Edwards 33cm
6th Jordan Roberts
Robert Turner both with 25cm.
Biggest fish was mike bishton with a 49cm codling
Smallest fish was split between Gary swift and Yuri both with a dab of 23cm
The golden peg was Chris James again who didn't win again but the closest guess to the winning length was Chris James who guessed 97 cm with the winning total being 94cm.
Thanks to Dave for getting us worm and well done to everyone who braved the weather we also had a junior fishing with Mike today young Aiden who is only 7 years old and lasted the whole match without a shelter unfortunately he didn't manage to catch today but neither did 9 of us so well done Aidan on only your second session fishing.
So with all the points added to the league table it is very close at the top of the table with 6 anglers still in with a chance of taking top spot in the league with only 4 points separating the top 3 and still a chance of winning one of the pools for everyone.
Hopefully see you All at the next match Sunday 2nd march town hall with the presentation and meal afterwards

Cheers

Mark
