sunday 3rd september harrison drive clashes with fleetwood open big fish match £500 1st prize i know a few will be fishing this myself included just putting it out there . thoughts ?

Going forward i think the matches need to be more regular and over a shorter period....i know holidays need to be taken into account ,but dropping 2 match scores helps with that....finishing the summer league in October seems too late to me,as we need to get the winter league up n running....feel free to ignore my comments,but as an onlooker it`s a bit of a drawn out affair.

I haven,t fished many matches as of late but I don,t agree with changing the date,venue,or time because it finishes late and doesn,t suit a few people.The organisers have a hard enough time as it is trying to fit in a series of matches without having to make changes a month or so later.The list of venues and times should be posted and thats that.If you can,t make a certain match tough cheddar.Dropping 2 match scores will even that out.It has been said before that if local match groups talked to each other at the beginning of the season then date clashes would be reduced.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

Sorry guys for the match dates but I did struggle to pick suitable dates and tide times that fitted into my other commitments this year then I handed over the reins to Mark.

We should have started the league earlier totally down to me sorry.

We try and keep the matches convenient for all the regulars that attend so if another match is on that clashes with our match and say 4 regular attending anglers choose to fish another match we will change our match if it doesn't cause too much disruption to our league. (obviously, this would be Mark and Dave's final decision) We do generally ask all that attending before the date is changed. But on the same note, I understand that the dates should be the dates once posted.

I did think it would be easier to pick dates and tide times but it's harder than I expected.
People don't like a match too early or too late. Then the tide sizes for certain venues during the right month then there are the other matches.

Maybe for the Winter League and next year's summer league gets a few more involved in the venues and dates sure most of us have Mark's phone number.

For various reasons early starts or late finishes on a Sunday are unpopular,particularly for those who have to travel a bit,so what are the views on putting some late Sat evening/night matches in the fixtures as this would help for those awkward tides which otherwise would not be used. I prefer to fish on a Sat as it gives me the full Sunday to do whatever at home,but as with anything it will not suit everyone,nothing ever does
I agree with Steve as i don`t agree with changes of dates once they`ve been announced....if another match comes up somewhere else and some lads want to fish it,then see you later.

I have read the comments regarding the fixtures and have taken them on board and yes I have changed a couple of matches but not to suit an individual. We usually get 10 to 14 at a match through the summer and if a few of the regular attendees can't make it then we could end up with only 5 or 6 able to fish so switching helps to get as many people there as possible.
As for the league finishing in October I know is a bit late but I'm sure it has finished in October previously on the odd occasion. I'm not the best at picking tides to match venues but when I looked at end of September there were some very big tides and when I saw Dock rd was a small tide in October and I have been lead to believe that was a good time for the bigger bass and flounder I thought it might be better fishing and as it was the last match I was planning on doing some sort of food at the end of the match depending on the weather. As for the suggestion regarding the upcoming winter league the idea of throwing in the odd Saturday late afternoon early evening match could be good if I remember correctly we had evening matches in the past (2005/2007). And also I have tried to avoid clashes with other matches but this isn't always possible.
And unfortunately there are times of year when I struggle for availability myself for example August is a very busy month for me outside of fishing with work commitments and if the weather is good you get far more tourists on the beaches but as I have said I have taken the comments on board and if I end up running the summer league next year I will use them to try and improve on this year

It`s a juggling act Mark,you can only go with your gut feeling about when n where to fish,and your efforts are really appreciated.As for the winter league,will you be running it,or do we need someone to take it on

The job`s yours i`ll get a sub section put up in plenty of time Maybe do away with the registration as it may put people off....it was brought in for a reason a good few years back,but it`s not needed now imho.

Okay if everyone is happy with that and I agree with leaving out registration may help in attracting a few more anglers to have a go
