Round 1 of the 2022 WSF winter league will see us at the Mersey road stretch of Otterspool prom,which is fairly close to the car park and appears to be a pretty fair match length. Booking on will be from 9.45am to 10.25am.Experience tells us that flat fish are pretty elusive at this venue,so as explained in the rules,you are allowed to record your longest fish comprising of 2 different species i.e codling and whiting,or dog and whiting e.t.c. I expect the main species present will be whiting and codling,though you can never rule out rays and dogs which seem to stay in the river for longer each year.Distance casting is not needed as most fish are taken pretty close in,and with the tidal pull it`s pointless anyway as the further you cast out,the further to the left you will be pulled.Please leave a sensible gap between the next angler (i would suggest 6 posts of the rail to keep apart)
It would help if you could bring your own pen to record your fish,a measure and the correct change for your entry fee.

Easy walk and it’s fishing well , Dad was there Saturday , plenty of fish

Dont forget the clocks go back an hour overnight sat/sun!

Booking on will close at 10.25am sharp...anyone who turns up later than that must find me on the prom to pay the entry fees before starting to fish
