Longest Fish Pool - Roy Schofield...…….Thornback Ray 45cm (£12)
12 anglers braved the absolutely atrocious weather conditions at Otterspool is search of a Codling or two along with anything else that swims in this total length match. The start of the match was plagued with heavy snowfall and freezing conditions and unsurprisingly the fishing was very scratchy for the first hour or so with very little other than the odd Whiting making its way over the railing.
That was until Ava Kensall managed to find one and whilst not a monster at 23cm was enough to get her off the mark...……………….

The Codling were sadly conspicuous by their absence which meant the longest fish pool went to the only person to find anything of any size on the day, Roy Schofield with a nice Thorny of 45cm...…………………..

Predictably the Whiting decided to come on the feed as the tide slackened off towards high water and it would come down to the scratching skills on show to build a total in the last 90 minutes....
Dave Roberts, Roy Schofield, Rob Turner, Dave Radcliffe and Dylan Kensall were all in the hunt but it would be a double shot of Whiting on the last cast for Dave Roberts that would see him take a close fished win.
