Vale Park Access

Post by Gaza »

Hi Guys,

Just wondering what the access is like for low water at vale park with regards to wading through onto Sandbank. Is it mud or hard ground? Is one end better than the other for getting through.

Cheers

If you intend fishing it ???
Their is no mad rush for getting out you can wait till the sand is well exposed / us locals start fishing 3 hours before but we also know the lay-out of the ground .

The fishing mainly starts two and a half hours before low a lot of times its an hour before low .

Their is a lot of soft spots when the water is still covering the sand and mud / plus the run off you cross in only knee deep but has a good pull that
will surprise you ?

No section is any better than another its all about putting your bait in the right place ? as I say a lot of time it pay's too move left or right if the fishing is not going well ? Vale and Perch can and are very Peggy so a move of 5-10 yards can change your session .

Have a look at reports or videos on YouTube .

Cheers Brian.

I wait at the shelter at the bottom of Magazine lane @3 hours before low water...look out straight ahead and when you see enough sand showing on the top of the bank(@250yds) to put your box down, that`s when i walk out...down the steps and straight out...the water used to be much deeper on the walk out but in recent years the close channel has changed, leaving it knee deep at the most....there might be the odd soft patch but i`ve never known anyone to have any probs, unlike Seaforth where it can be dangerous.

Thanks for the info guys, I have fished it before but was wondering if it had changed much.

I just seemed to remember the left hand end close in being a bit on the muddy side while crossing and coming back but fine once out on the bank itself.
