Longest Fish Pool - Dave Roberts......Thornback Ray 48cm (£8)

Round 6 saw testing weather conditions which resulted in a lower than usual turnout at Mariners to fish up to high water. The lads that did brave the elements were rewarded with some reasonable sport for this total length match.

Thankfully the weather eased as the match started and the early part of the flood saw Whiting dominating proceedings for those that could find them which included Gary Swift who was building a steady little card with fish coming over the railings.

As expected as the flood died down the Rays came onto the feed and Rob Turner took a nice double shot as part of a 6 Ray haul to give his card a healthy boost...………

Longest fish on the day went to Dave Roberts with a nice Thorny of 48cm...…………………

Dave Radcliffe was also in the mix thanks to a Ray and a dog to go with the Whiting as was Dave Roberts however it was Gary Swift who took the win with a card of 19 Whiting proving that sometimes quantity is key in the total length format. Well fished Gary.

Well done Gary

I ended up being his dedicated card signer

Double headers a cast in the last hour!

Was great to be out and conditions got quite decent as the match went on. Will try the venue again soon
