Just wondering what's your favourite rig when fishing in the winter on the Mersey not in a boat mine has always been a pulley pennel but thinking about a change :huh:

Mines a 2 hook Portsmouth loop distance rig for general whiting, Dogfish and Dab fishing. But for big fish it’s my up and over pennel rig that I use most of the winter when Cod are about.
Both rigs have never let me down. :D

portsmouth rig, up and over rig, dropper rig
but bread and butter rig is one up one down flapper :D

For cod fishing it`s an up n over pennel with 2/0 or 3/0 hooks :)
