NW ASAC Winter League Saturday 29.10 Vale Park

Hi there
Anyone got any idea about this league? Saw it advertised in the Nov issue of Sea Angler.....as there's no WSF match on , I thought I might tag along as its so close to home & another reason to cram another fishing session into the weekend!!

they not as friendly as us nige,
and you catch fish and return them the min size at present is 20cm so basically all fish count, ass you are not a member then i think you pay a bit more to fish the match.

Cheers, I think I'll take something stronger!!
Spoke to the organiser, Bill Linfield, tonight. £10.00 entry fee, meet at the shelter on Vale Park between 1 & 1.30.
Sounds like its pretty serious but itll be nice to fish at any rate. Going on recent matches, I dont think Im in with a chance....

It you want my advise nige then dont bother - to be honest the best of the best are there and will not be using your 1/0 hooks more like 6's to catch the smaller fish, they will have the best baits and you will just be fodder to them ......

Hi there
Well it was a good experience taking part in that comp....fished next to a couple of pros, Alan Price and someone who won their league last year, cant remember his name. Both were really helpful & good company on such a miserable afternoon.
Fishing was not terribly good though, even the matchmen only managed 4 or five in size fish, I ended up with 1 in size plus quite a few under.
Great learning experience to take part and gained some useful tips.
Bill the organiser was extremely helpful and ran a good show.
Might take part in future events.
