Early start to a Thursday

Post by I.duke »

Fishing session with szabs 22/1/15
I'd planned to meet with szabs for a session on Thursday so we started by meeting up at life boat rd to get some worms this being at daft o'clock in the morning 4.30 we collected some worms enough for the days fishing anyway after 1.1/2 collecting we decided to call it a day & head back to the cars
We then decided to travel to the ths to fish after the journey in the traffic we arrived making our way down the hill on to the prom what a shock water was quite way in already and it looked rough dark greyish & couldn't see the other side of the river the thought was this wasn't going to be a nice session so we picked our spot as no 1 else was there at this time ( not as daft as us ) after fishing about 1-2hrs szabs got the first fish of the day a dbl header whiting & a dab & I had nothing we both had 2 rods out I had a single hook pulley rig on 1 with big bait squid & black cocktail and a 2 hook rig on 2nd rod not sure what rigs szabs had on his 2nd rod but think he was same set up as me anyway after a few hrs I noticed my rod tip knocking a bit then a big pull and it lifted so slack it had to be a fish struck in to it it felt quite heavy thinking it had weed on it no to my surprise a nice cod well over the moon was an under statement re baited and got it out thinking must be more slabs was catching his dabs & whiting not sure how many after 4 hrs we was looking very cold & red faced lol but we plodded on fishing & as we was talking my 2nd rod had a big pull on it & went slack then big pull again hit in to id dead weight I managed to get it free thinking false alarm it started pulling as I was reeling in to my surprise coddling no2 my session was getting better we had a bit of quiet spell landing cpl more whiting & dabs but no more coddling so we called it a day as I had 2 coddling I gave szabs 1 around 2lb & I had 1 not sure about weight but was over 2.1/2lb -3lb.
All in all we had a good day fishing and some banter until next time thanks for company szabs
Baits used fresh & frozen black worms with success on single hook pully rig & 2 hook rigs ranging from 1/0 hook to 3/0
