Final ray hunt of the year for me on Sat if anyone fancies it It`s an early one though....i`m meeting Steve JH at 6.30am in Hoylake,and we`re fishing til 1pm

Wouldnt mind meeting you down there on sat to pick your brains and find where the best mark is. I fished it sat bank holiday right behind the old firing range. Had few small whiting but the swell was awesome/dangerous and soon became unfishable.
I intend driving down Friday night fishing the breakwater at Holyhead ( tide permitting ) kipping in the car for a few hours and driving over at daylight. Advice on bait to take rigs etc would be appreciated.

No mix up Mick,i like getting up early At least the dogs won`t be hanging themselves on every bait during daylight
Ian,the most popular rigs for rays are pulley pennels/up n overs or anything with a long hook length,so that the rays can settle on the bait without being spooked. As for baits,sand eel/launce section/mack all work well...fresh peeler would be good too

Kev - why is the last ray hunt?

Coz i don`t really rate thornies very highly....much rather put more effort into fishing some new marks further down the Llyen in search of bass

Milly is coming out to play too If anyone else tags along,you`d be advised to bring a rucksack and leave your box at home....climbing is`nt easy with a box swinging round your neck

might we;ll do this one and finsh working on boat for weekend and this time i is taking my ruff sack not a box will be down on friday night meet up with ya on sat

also if by any chance yer gona go buy some bait kev can yer pick some up for me an ill box yer off on sat?

My motor`s full with Milly and Dave W get your own bait...been there,done that,got left out of pocket you only need mack n sand eels
