well ive got to say 100lb braid on a multiplier works a treat casts up to 80-100 yards fine bite detection second to none , no shock leader required :)
reel abu 5500 mag elite ,rod sonik bass , 4 ounce gemini , I know 100 lb braid seems very excessive but i thought i would give it a whirl , Had 20 casts yesterday at low water perch rock and a couple of fish 1 flounder one small plaice . rod reacted like it was being knocked by a 10lb bass brilliant fun. Will give it a few more outings then try dropping down to 60lb braid

You'll be OK dropping down from 100lb i have 30lb on my abu sports mags & 50lb on my Penn 525s no problems at all with the braid & never had a birds nest it just go round a time or two & you just pull it back i decided to try it after reading all crazy plums had to say about it on the world sea fishing site forums.have a look & see you do need shock leader whatever though as braid has not much resistance to abrasion

He means a shock leader to prevent the braid getting ragged up on sand and stone etc when you're are reeling in.
