Hi what rod are you using with your SL20SH Reel

I fish from break waters and piers ect:
normaly over fairly clean ground but now and again go to shingle/rock venues
i am 5ft 9" i have a 10ft spinning rod & 12ft beach caster i feel more comfortable with a light and slim butt rod as i fish for a good few hours my beach caster has a fat butt and really long from reel seat to end off butt section this causes me problems with me been a short ar*e i have to step over rod before casting and this gets anoying and uncomfortable lol so what rod would you recomend for me with my sl20sh

Something with a shortish butt and good for all year round fishing dont want to spend loads as i have just got back into it again after years of not going .. Cheers lads .. Ash

Could you move the reel seat or use coasters so you don't have to buy a new rod,

Or cut the end off the rod

To be honest mate it isnt worth buying coasters for it mate just a cheap rod & reel combo i bought when i got back into fishing so fancy something new for my new second hand SL20SH as im addicted again

Cut the end off. Just make sure it's the right end. I got a Skakey bass rod. Really like using it but the reel seat is too far up the rod. Could cut the seat of and use coasters or adjustable reel seat but will probably just cut the end off.

or just buy a new rod. I've got a penn match affinity. Really nice rod. Just about slim and light enough to use as a heavy bass rod.
