Rod's...Your Choice

I keep reading on here about people asking which rod is the best. The answer is simple....The rod that suits you best. Everybody has a different casting style, so a certain rod will look good in someones hands and not yours. You will have to use different rods until you find the perfect partner. Me for instance can't pendulum cast to save my life
Though i achieve fair distances with layback casting. Why ? because i have found the right rods to suit my casting style. It took me 40 years to find them, but worth it just for the experience. I can do OTG casting, if i need that little bit extra, though rare. So i have settled for 3 beachcasters in my life and it will take a lot to part with them. These are my three..
1. Daiwa High Performance Match 12ft..... Excellent light rod with good bite detection. I use this for estuary fishing and will load with 5oz and two baits. It does not like 6oz. I have had this rod quite a few years now and they are becoming rare. Still original from the day it was made.
2. Zziplex Federation.....Superb match rod, can detect a dab farting 10 yards from the hook. Ultra sensetive tip, though can bounce a bit in the wind. This rod also prefers 5oz, but can handle 6oz. I aquired the rod off sparky (cheers) and did a re-build. Kammy also has a Federation, which he got new when they came out and still won't part with it. The odd one shows up on ebay, they can go for silly money. Get one at the right price, you will not be dissapointed.
3. Anyfish Anywhere Match Rod 13ft 4in...This is my newest addition and main beach rod, has stacks of power and casts no matter how you load it. Bite detection is good, which suprised me for such a powerful rod. The more you put into it, the more you get out. It is happy with 5 or 6oz and baits. It also sits in windy weather well.
So thats my three and very happy with them. If you ever come along to a BLAS match and want to give them a try, your more than welcome. Just let me know before-hand.
What are your views ? Do you have a best rod ? Let us know.................
