Fuji Alconite Rings Are Easily Damaged!

I've gone through a bad patch recently with my Six & Bait casting rod. If it gets knocked or blown over, then I end up breaking a ceramic insert. I can get replacements quickly from Gerrys but these Fuji BNMAG rings are not cheap - and of course there's the inconvenience!!.

The Fuji BNOG rings are half the price and are suppose to be more durable. Any experience of them out there, or is there anything else which will better stand up to the job?

The ironic thing is that AFAW probably put those expensive rings on because the rods were getting slagged off because of the cheap rings they put on the first few. Mine has the same ones and has blown over a few times but because I generally fish off sand I've not had a problem. I suppose you have two choices, either figure out a way to stop your tripod getting blown over or re-ring it in something cheaper and more durable like BNHGs.
You could try hanging a bag or bucket of pebbles under your tripod. I use a carrier bag full of sand to hold my brolly down and that's never blown away

A fresh breeze when fishing on pebbles or worst still rock ledges, and sooner or later rings will come into contact with something hard - could even be a slip from out of wet hands!!

I'll try the stone filled bag trick to at least reduce the risk of the tripod tipping.
