Bit of an impulse buy today. I've wanted a robust reel for a while and have been on the look out for a SLOSH or Penn 525 but this caught my eye. I did a quick search and found it had stainless gears. That seemed to sell it to me. (Wonder why )

I can't see it being practical for casting and rough ground shore fishing but we'll see. Must be better than my Abu 7500 C3 (Level wind) that I made a stainless bar to replace the level wind with. I just can't get my thumb over the top of the spool to cast.

Anyone had one of these?

Got the reel in the post. It's like new but is even bigger than my 7500. Appears to be a very well made smooth running reel and very beefy.

You would have done better by just going for a 7500 ct cage. I had one and cast quite well with it, But my 525 supermag extra is the doggys do-dahs.
