River Severn

Well its been a long time since I last fished the River Severn but after getting in touch with an old fishing mate, Col, who I've not seen for over a decade we decided to meet up with a session on the Severn one of our favourite places back then. We met at Ironbridge at 12 noon and after speaking to the local tackle shop owner who was once a local lad himself (from Prenton) we set of to the recomended area.
Armed with loads of pellets 4mm in the feeder and 8mm hair rigged on a band we set up and proceeded to bait up our swims, Col was first in with an impressive Gudgeon must have been 4oz! No picture of this mighty fish but not long after my rod sprang back and the bent double resuting in the first Barble of the day

This weighed a respectable 9lb 4oz and was followed by another of about four and a half and then a chub of 4lb. I missed a massive bite midway through the session and then had another strong pull on the rod tip resulting in this 8lb 8oz Barbel

All in all a good days fishing and good to catch up with an old mate
