Its an early 80's version of the Diawa Tomatocane.

Its a daiwa graphite coil mate from the early eighties. I've still got one of the uptiders as does my old fella. good rods, a bit dated but not a bad action. Cant go wrong for a tenner

daiwa done a moonraker which was a red blank with black helicoil on the rod in the 80s only know this as my uncle had one when they first came out

Been looking into this and i think it may be that,a moonraker,as it has an alloy lower half butt....never rebuilt a rod and im thinking of doing it,use it as a bass/flattie rod,its very light...

the alloy is to stop it rusting when you stick it in compost last for years imagine how many tomato vines it already held up. if its from the 80s

been well worth its tanner.

its not a moon raker its defo a daiwa graphite coil like steve said,i still have the uptide model gathering dust in the shed somewere.
