Hello all,

Is it o.k to use thin nose pliers to secure crimps or do i need to buy the special crimp pliers?

I use normal pliers but you must be careful you dont squeeze too hard at the ends of the crimp as it will cut into the line but i supose crimping pliers would be better especially when making stronger traces

If using a crimp to hold a swivel in place, I'll just nip the middle gently. Hard enough to hold it in place, but soft enough that you can slide the crimp.

If I'm making up 100lb mono type rigs with double crimps to secure the hook etc on then I'll use crimping pliers.

cheers
Simon

i lighty crimp twice in the middle, crimp once, rotate 90 degrees crimp again, with cheapo crimpin pliers.

i also like to use soft mini cripms. i find they look much neater and more stremlined

try breakaway coil crimps they don't require pliers.

I don't use crimps, except on my Tope rigs.

Try silicon tube, way more flexible :)
